Introducing Psolenoid

Blogging has become a pervasive part of the Internet and our daily lives, yet in the ten years that blogging has been in existence, few tools have been developed to facilitate the interconnectivity between this massive and nebulous community of bloggers, pundits, commenters and readers across the many disparate blog platforms.

Visibility into a blogger’s readership drops off quickly past one degree, which is unacceptable for an idea that has made millions and inspired more. The popularity of blogging today has clearly outpaced the technology that originally sprouted the phenomenon. Bloggers can interact with their readers via comments, but they continue to remain siloed from each other. This is why we developed Psolenoid, the world’s first ever easy-to-use linking tool that allows bloggers to connect their posts to other related posts through an automatic, richly interfaced two-way link exchange.

What is Psolenoid?

Psolenoid is an intuitive, easy-to-use linking tool that allows bloggers to connect their posts to other, related posts. When activated on a blog, Psolenoid allows bloggers to create a two-way, reciprocal link exchange between their blog post and another relevant post, connecting the related posts on both blogs.  We call this process “wiring” and it automatically creates a “rabbit hole” or two-way link for audiences of both blogs to visit the other blog post.

Visually, Psolenoid appears at the bottom of a blog post and looks similar to a comment, but is richer in appearance. It includes a preview of the wired blog post, a short note introducing the other site, and a user profile image.

Psolenoid operates across blogging platforms and aims to manifest connections between related blog posts that would not otherwise be connected.

Why should I activate Psolenoid?

Psolenoid helps bloggers stay informed, connected and visible by interweaving and connecting topics in the blogosphere. Psolenoid also provides better visibility into the community and readership around your blog and allows users to create new memes and engage with pre-existing memes. As a hosted platform, Psolenoid by design is architected to prevent spammers from wiring posts to your blog.

How does it work?

Psolenoid is designed to be easily and quickly activated on most blog platforms. We designed Psolenoid to be intuitive, and self-propagate, so there is no central activation page. Users activate Psolenoid by simply attempting to wire their blog post to a Psolenoid-enabled blog post.  Psolenoid does the rest, guiding bloggers through the process of wiring a post and authentication and even fetching a profile picture from the web. After authentication, Psolenoid  automatically inserts itself into your blog’s template.  Bloggers can also chose to activate Psolenoid by manually copying and pasting the Psolenoid script into their blog template.

We hope you enjoy using Psolenoid and look forward to hearing your feedback! Write us at support@psolenoid.com.
